Inspired by the rich tradition of early Christian symbolism and ancient Mediterranean mosaics, this design features two fish swimming in opposite directions, surrounding the Greek word ΙΧΘΥΣ (Ichthys) — meaning “fish” and historically used as an acronym for “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour.”
Encircled by an intricate mosaic border, the weathered ochre and terracotta tesserae draw inspiration from ancient Roman craftsmanship and early Christian archaeological art.
